Nyako held the Senate President may alter seating arrangements and described the six-month suspension as excessive, but made no order for immediate reinstatement. 2025-07-14: National Assembly legal directorate said the judgment contained no order requiring Senate action; Akpabio appealed. 2026-02-09: three-member Court of Appeal panel presided over by Justice Abba Muhammed held that Akpabio acted within his powers in suspending her, and set aside the contempt finding and N5 million fine.1 2
